Midsize Configuration

Our midsize crane simulator features the same advanced software and 3D graphics as our full-size crane simulator. However, this PC-based version uses a commercial crane chair mounted to a motion system and a large screen, high resolution visual system. Electrical actuators beneath the chair provide realistic pitch, roll, and yaw motion and the control panels replicate actual crane controls.

Graphical images are generated in response to user input at the crane controls on a large, high resolution display system. Images of the crane structure, lifting mechanism, pay-loads, cables, and obstacles provide intricate detail and depth cues. The electrically actuated motion system mounted to the crane chair simulates bumps and vibrations present under normal operating conditions, jolts due to collisions, and forces experienced during hoist, trolley, and gantry movements. A high-fidelity sound system provides realistic noises from the crane environment including engines, hydraulics, rail bumps, collisions, and other sounds normally encountered during crane operation.

Crane Software

A midsize crane configuration can simulate a variety of port, construction, industrial, and maritime cranes. Each simulation system includes two crane training modules with the capacity to modify and vary the crane specifications such as height, capacity, and speed.

Although each crane module simulates only one crane type, the specifications can be modified to simulate various models of the same crane type. In addition, as your training requirements change, additional modules can be easily incorporated into the system. The portable crane configuration can use any of our 12 crane modules, or a custom crane module can be developed to suit your training needs.

All of the crane modules possess many of the same basic features. These include realistic crane controls, operating environment sounds, 3D graphic images, weather variations, realistic lifting mechanisms, cargo, and cables, custom cargo loads, and natural payload motion and swing.
