 By
using Ship Analytics’ Radar/ ARPA trainer, students are able to learn
relative motion concepts, plotting techniques, and the application
of international regulations for preventing collisions at sea. The
simulator enables training in setting up and maintaining radar displays
and determining target ranges, bearings, courses, and speeds. Students
can calculate target CPAs and TCPAs, as well as detecting course
and speed changes.
The ARPA
simulation provides full capabilities for manual and automatic detection
and tracking of targets. Multiple targets can be tracked simultaneously.
The system contains all required ARPA functions including: ownship
and tracked target status; CPA/TCPA information; display motion,
orientation, and range scale; target vectors and history tracks;
VRM, EBL, and guard rings; automatic target acquisition and trial
maneuvers; plus IMO-required warnings and alarms.

 The
Radar/ARPA can be used as a stand-alone trainer, or located on a
ship’s bridge as part of a Full Mission Shiphandling
Simulator.
Customers
may choose their preferred input devices including touch screen,
trackball, or mouse.
Radar/ARPA
is a Marine Radar and Automatic Radar Plotting Aid simulator that
complies with the radar performance standards (Section A-I/12) and
guidance (Section B-I/12) of the STCW Code.
It is
designed for courses in radar observation, plotting, and the use
of ARPA as described in IMO Model Courses 1.07, 1.08, and 1.09.
