Safe Training for Liquid Cargo Operations

The Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator is a joint development between Warsash Maritime Centre, Warsash, England, originally with Ferranti Computer Systems Ltd. and since 1994 with Ship Analytics International.

SAfeCargo is a versatile training simulator that provides real-time simulation of the thermodynamic and fluid properties of the liquids and gases involved, together with the process control systems used in the storage and handling of potentially hazardous bulk liquids.

The system is primarily intended to be used for the training of personnel involved with the handling of bulk liquids and gases, either ashore or afloat.

SAfeCargo fully meets the training requirements of STCW 95. In addition, the requirements of international conventions and regulations such as issued by the IMO and ICS including MARPOL, IGS, COW, ISM, ICG, and IBC together with classification and environmental requirements are also taken into full account depending upon model type.
