WISE Sentinel

The purpose of this product is to provide intelligent monitoring of system status for computer based, flow control systems, primarily related to the marine industry though the product can be adapted to be used in any similar environment

The software will comprise an 'Intelligent' module which will interface directly with the data within a computer based control system.

The 'Intelligent' module by using 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'Expert System' techniques will monitor the status of defined parameters within a system and output feedback as appropriate when specific conditions are met. The basis for the system is a complex set of rules developed by subject experts which can check many different parameters and can be combined so that very detailed situations can be monitored. The number of rules contained within the database will depend on the system being monitored and data available. However the system has been proved using a database in excess of 1000 rules on a complex system in a real time environment.

Feedback is provided currently in the form of messages though these can easily be changed to link into alarm systems or other forms of feedback to the operator. If messages are used, the operator has the ability to be able to move directly into relevant sections of on-line documents and other background materials, which will provide guidance with respect to operational procedures, practices and safety routines.

The software is currently designed for PC based platforms but can be easily adapted to run on other platforms such as UNIX.
