 | The Maxim Range | |
Teach complex engineering principles using the power of interactive
simulation for a variety of electrical, mechanical and marine subjects.
Our Maxim training modules are designed to provide you with a low
cost, PC-based approach to engineering education.
Extensively tested mathematical simulation models combined with a
highly realistic graphical representation of controls and instrumentation
means students can interact and experiment with the virtual plant.
Maxim 100 - Electrical Power Generation
Maxim 200 - Motors and Motor Drives
Maxim 300 - Diesel Engine and Auxiliary Systems - Marine or Generic
Configurations
Maxim 400 - Refrigeration Plant
- For self study or class demonstration.
- Supplied with pre-prepared exercises.
- Comprehensive logging of all student activity for exercise assessment.
- Runs on standard PC.
Engineering theory has traditionally been taught in the classroom supported by practical work in a machines laboratory. Although this approach has many advantages, there are many subject areas which are difficult or even impossible to demonstrate effectively.
Maxim is specifically designed to provide the solution to this problem by allowing the student to exercise both practical and theoretical skills.
Maxim calculates the real-time state of the simulated system and
displays these values in a familiar and effective way. Students have
many opportunities to interact and experiment. Formal exercises are
available and all student activity may be logged for assessment purposes.
Maxim's main features are:
- Interactive color graphics for presenting data and concepts in an interesting and stimulating way.
- Verified Mathematical Simulation with Real Time response.
- Simulated Machinery, Controls & Instrumentation.
- Familiar Windows GUI with multiple resizable windows.
- Runs on Win 95, Win 98 or Win NT.
- Supplied with pre-prepared exercises.
- Uses standard PC hardware (Pentium 90 MHz+)
- Comprehensive Logging of all student activity for exercise assessment.
- Help files covering the engineering content to encourage self learning.
- Low cost and easy to enhance with additional simulation images.
- Multimedia effects including sound, photographic images and system diagrams
